    Nobody had mapped where documentation time actually goes in psychiatric practice. We timed 202 tasks across eight clinics in Denmark and the UK. Methods, sample sizes and limitations published alongside every figure.

    A multi-site analysis of time spent on clinical documentation in psychiatry, and the effect of AI-assisted notetaking.

    202 documentation tasks timed across eight psychiatric clinics in Denmark and the UK, spanning 16 document types. Time is concentrated in long-form reports - Mental Health Act, medico-legal and court documents at 46 to 57 minutes each. Clinical notes fell from 14.5 to 5.5 minutes with Aisel (62% reduction; cross-site observational comparison, not a controlled trial). The heavy reports are the subject of the next study.
