01 - What it measures
The CY-BOCS is a clinician-rated, semi-structured scale that grades the severity of obsessions and compulsions in young people across time, interference, distress, resistance and control, using an age-appropriate symptom checklist.
02 - Scoring & cutoffs
Each item is rated 0 to 4. Obsession and compulsion subtotals sum to a total of 0 to 40, interpreted with the same severity bands as the adult Y-BOCS.
03 - Licensing, explained
The CY-BOCS is owned by OCD Scales, LLC and carries the same restrictions as the Y-BOCS: a licence is required for commercial use, EMR incorporation, app inclusion, digitalisation and translation, so we cannot host it.
