01 - What it measures
The UKU rates a broad range of side effects across psychic, neurological, autonomic and other domains, together with a global assessment of how far the side effects interfere with the patient's daily life.
02 - Scoring & cutoffs
Each side effect is rated 0 to 3 for severity and judged as unlikely, possibly or probably related to the medication. The scale is used to track side-effect burden over time rather than to produce a single cut-off score.
03 - Licensing, explained
The UKU Side Effect Rating Scale (Lingjaerde et al., 1987) is widely reproduced, but it was published in Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica and Wiley may hold the copyright, so commercial digital rights are undocumented. We are confirming permission before hosting it.
